Police impound a whack of vehicles

DUFFERIN COUNTY – On Friday, May 13, 2016 Dufferin OPP were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 10 at 25th side road in the Town of Mono. 

A Nissan Altima sedan was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked at 135 km per hour in a posted 80 km per hour zone. 

A Traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle was pulled over. A 20-year-old male from Malton was charged.

At 4:45 p.m. on Northbound Airport at 15th side road in Town of Mono a Honda Civic was clocked at 135 km per hour in a posted 80 km zone.  

A 51-year-old female driver from Brampton was charged. At 7:10 p.m. on same date an Acura SUV at Highway 89 and County Road 124 and failed to stop for police. 

The 30-year-old driver from Shelburne was located and charged with Fail to stop for police, G1 driver driving alone, Careless driving and expired validation tag.

On Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. police clocked a southbound Dodge Durango on Highway 10 and County 10 at 147 km in a posted 80 km per hour zone. A 25-year-old male driver from Markham was charged.

The above drivers who were travelling in excess of 50 km per hour over speed limit had their vehicles and drivers licenses impounded for 7 days and will all appear in Orangeville Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
