Police believe hand gun involved in Mac's robbery

Ontario Provincial Police say they would like to hear from a woman who may have entered a Mac's Convenience Store immediately after a robbery suspect fled early this morning.

The following is the text of a news release issued this afternoon:

TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE – On Jan. 12, 2016 at 4:05 a.m. officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial police (OPP) were called to investigate a robbery which occurred at the Mac’s convenience store on Main Street in Penetanguishene, ON.

Just before 4 a.m. a lone male entered the store brandishing what police believe to be a hand gun. The suspect demanded money from the clerk and left with a quantity of cash.

The male was last seen leaving the store on foot heading Eastbound on Robert Street East.

The male suspect is described as white male, thin build, wearing a black t-shirt with a white shirt hanging out, brown gloves and a black balaclava.

There were no injuries as a result of this incident and The Southern Georgian Bay Street Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.
