Pharmacies band together to help women's shelter

The donation will help 16 women and children for 12 weeks

Barrie's 10 Shoppers Drug Mart stores came together to raise $23,896 for the Women & Children's Shelter of Barrie.

"These much-needed funds will support 16 women and children affected by intimate partner violence who are staying in the shelter for 12 weeks, said Lisa Spinks-Smith, development manager for the shelter.

A cheque presentation took place Wednesday.
