Barrie Police say a 19-year old man was struck by a vehicle this morning while crossing the intersection at Ferndale Drive and Essa Road.

Const. Jamie Saunders tells BarrieToday.com that police are trying to determine if the young man was crossing against the walk signal or if the driver's actions were a factor.

"Fault has not been determined," said Const. Saunders.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries but Simcoe County Paramedics transported him to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre to be assessed.

The intersection was re-opened shortly after the incident.
