Partnership aimed at connecting local immigrants to new services

Like-minded individuals can network at May 31 event and learn about emerging economic opportunities, programs, and opportunities for multicultural connections

A partnership between the Simcoe County Local Immigration Partnership, the Ethnic Mosaic Alliance and Ontario 2-1-1 will help share information with residents about new programs and services for immigrants across Simcoe County during an in-person event later this month.

An upcoming session is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. on May 31 at East Bayfield Community Centre and is aimed at ethno-cultural associations, faith-based organizations and volunteers who help new Canadians settle in the region.

The two-hour event will serve as an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and learn about emerging economic opportunities, new and existing programs, and opportunities for multicultural connections.

Established in 2011, the Simcoe County Local Immigration Partnership  immigration.simcoe.ca  is funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada and is comprised of numerous community leaders, including representatives from education, policing, libraries, economic development, health, housing family counselling and supports, employment services, settlement services, government, and the United Way of Greater Simcoe County.
