INNISFIL – The Innisfil Farmers’ Market is wrapping up their sixth season of the outdoor market with a Harvest Festival on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 and a Pumpkin Festival on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016.

These special events always include activities for the kids, musical entertainment and great food. These events will also celebrate the launch of Innisfil’s first indoor market, which starts on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016.

“At this year’s Pumpkin Festival we’re introducing a public Pumpkin Carving Contest. Everyone is invited to submit their best pumpkin carving for judging by the vendors. Participation is free and we are hoping the community will join us on the last day of the outdoor market to celebrate the season and welcome our move indoors,” says Jaime Grant, Chair of the Innisfil Farmers’ Market Committee.

Carved pumpkin submissions will be received at the Oct. 6 market at the Town of Innisfil tent from 4 to 6 p.m. Then, a winner will be announced, presented with bragging rights and a “Taste of the Market” gift basket.

Pumpkins are available for sale prior to and during the events.

Fifteen vendors will participate in the indoor Innisfil Farmers’ Market, which will run weekly on Thursdays starting Oct. 13, 2016 and until Dec. 15, 2016.

The market will operate from 4 to 8 p.m., in the lobby of the Innisfil Recreational Complex, located at 7315 Yonge Street. Visitors to the indoor market can expect to find many of the great tastes they are familiar with at the regular market.
