SIMCOE COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

On May 1, 350 elementary and secondary students from schools across the Simcoe County District School Board will gather at Innisdale Secondary School to celebrate Music Monday.
Students have collaborated to put on an outdoor concert which will culminate in a mass performance of this year’s Music Monday anthem, Sing It Together. This event is being funded in part by the Government of Ontario in celebration of Canada 150.
The two-hour concert will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Innisdale’s sports field. The school is located at 95 Little Avenue in Barrie.
Launched in 2005 by The Coalition for Music Education, Music Monday is the world’s largest single event dedicated to raising awareness for music education. It happens on the first Monday in May each year.
Students, community groups, musicians and artists from across the country participate in a simultaneous nationwide concert performance of an original song written by a Canadian artist.
