Modular home destroyed by fire in Oro-Medonte (3 photos)

'Everybody is OK and there are no injuries or fatalities,' says township spokesperson, who added fire crews remain on scene of 'pretty big fire'

Oro-Medonte Fire and Emergency Services were called to a fully involved structure fire of a modular home on Line 11 North this morning around 10:30 a.m.

“Everybody got out,” says the township's communication and public relations officer, Jenny Legget. “Everybody is OK and there are no injuries or fatalities.”

While details are still scarce, Legget was told by Fire Chief Hugh Murray that firefighters undertook a quick attack and knocked the fire down.

“Crews are currently on scene taking care of overhaul,” she said. “I think it was a pretty big fire, that’s the sense that I got.”

Legget says more details will become available as the investigation unfolds.
