OPP probe collision in Severn Township

On Saturday Jan. 20, the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and Severn Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision at Hampshire Mills Line and Division Road East in the Township of Severn.

Shortly before 3 p.m. officers received a call of a collision involving two motor vehicles at the intersection of Hampshire Mills Line and Division Road East. When OPP officers and Severn Fire arrived on the scene, one male was observed to be trapped inside his vehicle. Severn Fire extricated the male who was then brought to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital by the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services with minor injuries.

Preliminary investigation reveals that one motor vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign striking the other vehicle. Investigation is still continuing at the time of this release and a charge is expected to be laid in relation to this incident.
