ESSA - At approximately 3:30 pm on November 27, 2015, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), received information of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of the 5th Line of Essa and Centre Street, Angus.
A westbound pick-up truck disobeyed a stop sign and proceeded through the intersection at the 5th Line at Centre Street, striking an eastbound SUV.
The force of the impact caused the SUV to enter the south ditch of Centre Street.
Master Corporal David Anderson of CFB Borden, age 45 years, was pronounced dead at the scene.
On December 16, 2015, the Nottawasaga OPP arrested and charged 26 year old Andrew STEWART of Angus with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.
He will be held for a bail hearing today in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie.
