OPP brings in four Orillians

An assault and a recent shoplifting incident at a local grocery store were part of the investigation

ORILLIA – On June 29, 2016 at approximately 1:15 p.m., officers of the Orillia Detachment Street Crime Unit (SCU) assisted by the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Central Region Canine Unit and Orillia Detachment uniformed officers attended a residence on Albert Street South in the City of Orillia.

Police were conducting an investigation which involved the four individuals for outstanding arrest warrants, assault and a recent shoplifting incident at a local grocery store.

Four individuals in the residence were arrested.

Lucas Campbell, 22, of Orillia was arrested in connection with a theft from a local business. He has been charged with failing to comply with a probation order and theft under $5,000. 

He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of 16 August 2016 in Orillia court.

Michael McCallum, 30, of Orillia has been charged with possession of cannabis marihuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cannabis marijuana.

He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of 16 August 2016 in Orillia Court.

Christy Worrell, 25, of Orillia was arrested for obstructing a police officer and abetting assault with a weapon in relation to a previous police investigation. 

She was held for a show cause hearing in Barrie on 30 June 2016.

Patrick Pearson, 22, also from Orillia was arrested on an outstanding Orillia OPP warrant for assault with a weapon and an Anishinabek Police Service warrant for fail to appear, assault and uttering threats. 

He is further charged with theft under $5,000 in connection with a theft from a local business. He was held for a show cause hearing in Barrie on June 30, 2016.
