Public Health Ontario reported 704 new COVID cases in its Oct. 2 report.
The latest updates noted a total of 645 recoveries and seven deaths that occurred in the last month.
The Oct. 2 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:
- Of the 704 cases reported, 401 were in unvaccinated people, 44 were partially vaccinated, and 198 were fully vaccinated. The vaccination status for the remaining 61 cases is unknown (missing health card information).
- There are 115 unvaccinated people hospitalized (but not ICU) with COVID-19, as well as eight partially vaccinated people and 31 fully vaccinated people.
- There are 94 unvaccinated people in ICUs with COVID-19, as well as eight partially vaccinated and seven fully vaccinated.
- 5,021 active, lab-confirmed cases, up from 4,969 yesterday.
- 274 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.
- There are 141 COVID-positive patients in the ICU plus another 21 patients no longer testing positive for COVID-19.
- There are 110 COVID-positive patients on ventilators and another 17 patients on ventilators no longer testing positive for COVID.
- 10,583,567 Ontarians have been fully vaccinated.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 587,521 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 572,750 recoveries and 9,750 deaths.
