One more night of Halloween at spooky Simcoe County Museum (26 photos)

The haunted museum is a perfect place to bring the family

Simcoe County Events Programmer Shaughna Crew is as excited as the kids who walk through the doors for the annual Evening Of Halloween.

Dressed as Cleopatra, Crew is one of many staff and volunteers bringing the spirit of Halloween to the museum for three nights a year Plans start taking shape in July when the committee begins building props and creating games.

“We usually get anywhere from 400-600 people a night over the three days,” said Crew. “We have Boo Bingo, Don’t Fry Frankenstein game, Zing The Zombie and a whole bunch of other games where kids can get treats for participation. The face painting is popular and there is a local magician here to perform while you enjoy your hot chocolate. It’s such a fun night.”

While the grounds of the museum inside and out are turned into a fun place for families to enjoy the festivities, for ages 12 and up there is the Terror Trail. The spooky trail is a long winding path that’s well worth the visit on its own.

“The Terror Trail is always a hit,” said Crew. “Our huge team of volunteers work weeks on end with staff and our awesome maintenance crew to design the field and build the really cool props; and of course, volunteer to dress up and help make your walk through it an eventful one.”

Evening Of Halloween is on for one more night tonight (October 27) at the museum which is located at 1151 Highway 26 in Minesing.

Admission for adults is $6, students and seniors are $5,  and kids are only $4. There is a special deal for group bookings of ten or more.
