NEWS RELEASE

BARRIE POLICE SERVICE

***********************
At approximately 05:10 a.m. Barrie police were called to the McDonald’s Restaurant on Barrieview Dr.

The male driver of a vehicle in the drive through had fallen asleep at the wheel.

When witnesses tried to wake him up he said he’d had too much to drink.

When police arrived, the [allegedly] intoxicated man was arrested for impaired care and control and transported to the Barrie Police Service Station for breath tests.

The man blew over twice the legal limit and was also charged with over 80 mgs.

A 23-year-old Kleinberg man now faces a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

He will appear in a Barrie Court in December.
