Newmarket man charged following R.I.D.E check

A 33-year-old Newmarket man is facing excess alcohol charges.

On Sunday, November 29, 2015 at about 1:30 a.m. a male party was stopped in a R.I.D.E spot check on County Road 89 in Innisfil.  

The driver denied consuming alcohol, however, the officer could smell the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the drivers breath.  

The driver was required to provide a breath sample into a road side screening device which resulted in a FAIL.  

The male party was arrested for over 80 care or control and taken to the police station for further breath samples which confirmed that he was over the legal limit.  

A 33-year-old Newmarket man is facing excess alcohol charges.  

He will appear in Bradford Provincial Court at a later date to answer to the charges.  

His drivers license was automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
