CITY OF BARRIE

The new Annual Parking Pass is now available for purchase through the City. The new pass comes into effect on July 1 and is valid until the end of 2016, for use in all downtown yellow parking lots.

“This pass is all about making parking downtown more convenient,” says Mayor Jeff Lehman. “It’s cheaper than a monthly pass and you don’t have to remember to keep buying a new pass each month. This is the perfect option for downtown companies and workers.”

The Annual Parking Pass will sell for $576 plus taxes, which is 20 percent less expensive compared to the current price of 12 monthly parking passes.

The cost of the 2016 pass has been prorated for six months to $288 plus taxes, because it is being introduced halfway through the year.

The pass is a pilot project to determine how much demand there is for annual parking passes, and to try to make parking downtown more convenient for people who live or work there.

Parking passes are available for purchase at the following locations:

  • City Hall (Finance Department): 70 Collier Street
  • Downtown Barrie Business Association: The Uptown Shoppes, 50 Dunlop Street East
  • Barrie Transit Terminal: 24 Maple Avenue
  • East Bayfield Community Centre: 80 Livingstone Street East
  • Holly Community Centre: 171 Mapleton Avenue
  • Allandale Recreation Centre: 190 Bayview Drive
