Shortly before midnight on June 20, 2019, Springwater Fire & Emergency Services along with the Essa Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Reflections RV Park on County Road 90.

When emergency crews arrived on scene, they found a mobile home fully involved with fire. Two Springwater fire stations, one Essa fire station and approximately 18 firefighters responded to the call. The firefighters initiated a defensive attack to protect exposure to nearby structures.

Neighbours called 911 when they were awoken to loud noises and noticed the fire.

The trailer was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire was electrical.

Damage is estimated at $60,000.

“Space heaters and other heavy appliances should be plugged directly into an outlet,” warned Deputy Fire Chief Jeff French. “If this is not possible, use a 14 gauge three-wire, grounding-type appliance extension cord to reduce the risk of potential hazards.”
