Military police member faces impaired charge

TOWNSHIP OF ESSA – On February 21, 2016, at approximately 10:30 am, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Nottawasaga Detachment, received a call to attend the parking lot of the Shoppers Drug Mart in Angus regarding a collision involving two motor vehicles.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officer was approached by several witnesses who stated they could smell alcohol on the breath of one of the drivers.

These witnesses are credited for detaining the driver until police arrived.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, Annick De Longue Epee, age 38, of Ste-Catherine-De-La-J-Cartier, Quebec, was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

She was taken to the Military Police Office at Base Borden for breath samples, and was released later in the day.

Ms. De Longue Epee, is a member of the Military Police, attending a training course at Canadian Forces Base Borden.
