BRADFORD - On Monday, April 25, 2016, just after midnight, South Simcoe Police were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check on Disette Street in Bradford.

A vehicle approached the spot check, slowed then accelerated. The vehicle did not appear that it was going to stop.

When officers yelled at the driver he finally pulled over.

When an officer spoke to the driver, he noted the smell of marijuana, which the driver admitted to smoking earlier.

A computer check revealed that the man was on drug trafficking charges, and one of the conditions of his release was to abstain from taking non-prescribed drugs.

After arrest, the man handed over drugs that were hidden in his clothing, including marijuana and crack cocaine, packaged for individual sale.

A 22-year-old Toronto man will be in court in June to face the following charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
  • Possession for the purpose of Trafficking (Marijuana)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (Cocaine)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (Marijuana)
  • Fail To Comply with Undertaking
