Man being sought in Orillia bank robbery

The man stated he had a gun and fled the scene though the direction and mode of transportation are not known

On Jan. 5, 2018, members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a robbery at a bank in the City of Orillia.

At approximately 3:43 p.m. a lone male entered the Scotiabank branch located at 3305 Monarch Dr. in the City of Orillia. The male stated he had a firearm although one was not observed. After a brief encounter, the male fled the bank in an unknown direction or mode of travel.

The male is described as:

  • Male between 18-25 years old
  • 5'10" -6'-2"
  • Thin build
  • Wearing blue jeans and a black coat

The Orillia Crime Unit along with the Orillia OPP continues to investigate this incident. If anyone recognizes the person in the picture, was a witness to this incident or has information regarding the circumstances they are encouraged to contact the Orillia OPP at 705-326-3536 or 1-888-310-1122.
