Man arrested in YMCA theft

Also charged with possession of jewellery taken in Dundonald break-in

On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, just before 6 p.m., investigators from the Barrie Police Street Crime Unit located a male on Bayfield Street who was wanted in connection to a theft at the YMCA located on Grove Street, in the City of Barrie.

The 28-year-old, Barrie male was arrested and charged with; 3 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Unauthorized Use of Credit Card Data, 1 count of Theft Under $5,000 and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

Further investigation revealed the male was the suspect from a break and enter that had occurred earlier in December at a residence on Dundonald Street, Barrie.

At the time of his arrest he was in possession of jewelry that had been stolen from the residence.

The male was charged with an additional count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and held for a bail hearing.
