On the 1st of November 2015 at approximately 1:35 a.m., Barrie Police responded to a south end residence in regards to the report of a domestic incident in progress.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a 29-year-male and his girlfriend had a heated argument, resulting in the male being locked out of the house.
The male party became enraged and [allegedly] kicked in the door to the residence and once inside assaulted his girlfriend.
This was witnessed by a third party who removed a young child from the home during the incident to keep the child safe.
The 29-year-old male was arrested for mischief under $5,000, and assault.
The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
