The Barrie Police Service is seeking witnesses to assist with identifying a male suspect following a theft at Rona, located at 61 Mapleview Drive, East, in the City of Barrie.

On Friday, February 5, 2016, just after 11:00 a.m., video surveillance captured a male selecting a Dewalt battery charger and a Dewalt dry-wall cutting tool. The suspect concealed both items into his jacket and left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items.

External video surveillance captured the suspect fleeing the parking lot in a Dodge pick-up truck, red in colour.

The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male, white
  • Heavy build, approx. 250-275lbs.
  • 60 - 65 years old
  • Wearing a dark blue baseball hat with the letter “C” logo on the front, black jacket, grey golf shirt, jeans, and black boots.

Vehicle described as:

  • Red 1998-2002 Dodge Pick-Up Truck
  • Red Fiberglass cap
  • Approximately 12” beige stripe along bottom rocker area of truck
  • Alloy or Chrome rims
