A company providing online rental housing listings for Georgian College students is now offering landlords free advertising.
Places4Students.com says it was contracted several years ago by Georgian College to provide an online rental property listings resource for its students.
The company says Georgian students are now making arrangements to attend classes in Barrie this upcoming winter semester, but there is still an urgent need for more off-campus housing accommodations due to low vacancy rates.
“We service landlords with single-unit rentals, a room within a house, single apartment, etc., and multiple-unit rentals — a duplex, apartment building, condo complex,” said Laurie Snure, general manager at Places4Students.com. “The offer with Georgian College will run until next November, so that landlords can fully benefit and continue to offer their rentals to students throughout the summer, spring and fall.”
Single-unit general listings usually cost $30.99 a month, and rarely need to be advertised for one year, Snure said, and multiple-unit general listings cost $50.99 a month or $395 a year.
These advertising costs are now free for landlords. This applies to rentals for all Georgian College campuses — Barrie, Orillia, Midland, Owen Sound, Orangeville, Muskoka, and southern Georgian Bay.
