NEWS RELEASE

SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE

*************************
Police across Ontario are celebrating Police Week from May 15-21.

This year's theme is "Discover Policing For Safer Communities”.

South Simcoe Police are joining the festivities, and to help you discover policing in your community, we're opening our stations for tours.

On Monday, May 16, the South Division in Bradford will be open for tours and displays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Police Service Dog Chase and his handler, PC Brett Jacques, will be doing a canine demonstration at 6:00 p.m.

PC Carl Jarvis from our Traffic and Marine Unit will be there to show off his riding skills on our motorcycle (weather permitting).

Also on hand will be officers displaying the equipment and skills of our emergency response unit, prisoner transport, our cruisers, and our forensic team.

You can climb aboard our recently updated incident command post.

On Thursday, May 19, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the North Division in Innisfil will be open for tours and displays, including the canine and motorcycle demos.

We have lots of information available about our programs, including Lock It Or Lose It, our Vulnerable Persons Registry, and of course, our DriveSafe! program.

Join us and discover how your police are making your community safer!

South Division, 81 Melbourne Drive, Bradford.

North Division, 2137 Innisfil Beach Road, Innisfil.
