Simcoe Community Services believes that 'Kids Belong Together'. The Simcoe Community Services Inclusion Excellence awards are presented annually to educators and students who promote and exemplify inclusive school environments.

This school year, Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) special education consultant Jennie Marshall has been recognized as one of the recipients of this award.

Marshall has worked in the SCDSB’s Special Education Department for nearly seven years. She started her career as a Special Education Resource Teacher at Goodfellow Public School and now provides system leadership as a Family of Schools Consultant.

“Jennie's ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships while developing and implementing plans that support students and their families both in the school and in the community makes her a great role model in the SCDSB. Jennie’s educational philosophy can be summed up by her belief that everyone smiles in the same language,” says Chris Samis, superintendent of program and special education, SCDSB.

“The Simcoe Community Services Inclusion Excellence awards show that the compassion, innovation and understanding that local educators demonstrate on a daily basis creates meaningful changes in childrens’ lives,” says Jamie Hall, stakeholder relations manager, Simcoe Community Services. “We take pride in recognizing these exceptional people that are dedicated to our vision – to spark the unlimited potential of all people.”
