Innisfil man charged with stabbing son

Police say the incident occurred after the son argued with his mother

INNISFIL - On Thursday, December 17, 2015, just after 6 p.m., South Simcoe Police officers responded to a 9-1-1 call for a stabbing at a home in north Innisfil.

Once on scene, officers placed a man under arrest and seized a knife.

The man's 29 year old son was transported to hospital, where he was treated for a stab wound to his left forearm.

Investigators learned that the man had become enraged with his son after the younger man argued with his mother.

The 62-year-old Innisfil man was held in custody, and will appear for a bail hearing today, charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault With A Weapon, Weapons Dangerous and Uttering Threats.

The victim was treated and released from hospital.

It is expected that he will make a full recovery.
