Lakeside Dance Studio will be hosting a grand opening event next week in support of the Innisfil Food Bank.
The studio offers ballroom and Latin dance lessons for adults.
Husband and wife owners Adam and Ashley Spadafora opened the studio in November 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pair has been teaching private lessons for adults for over nine years throughout Simcoe County.
"For most of that time, we had a studio in Barrie, teaching couples for fun, wedding dance lessons, and dance fitness group classes," said Ashley.
They would also volunteer to teach dancers in the annual Dancing With the Easter Seals Stars show, which supports children with disabilities in Ontario.
"It has been such a pleasure having the opportunity to share our passion for dance with others and create such an amazing Lakeside Dance family," said Ashley.
The couple has lived in Alcona for the past decade, and are excited to now offer lessons to local dancers inside their home studio.
"It has definitely been a difficult road for us as a small business to rebuild," said Ashley, noting the stresses felt through the COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions.
"Our hope for our grand opening is to let others know there is something fun and rewarding so close to home. Partner dancing is such a great date night idea, and a fun way to get active both physically and mentally," said Ashley.
The grand opening event will take place Thursday, Sept. 29 from 6-8 p.m. at 2723 Ireton St., Innsfil.
Guests are welcome to pop by, check out the space, meet the instructors and learn more about the classes.
The couple is asking all attendees to bring a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to the Innisfil Food Bank.
