Female charged with impaired

On Saturday January 16, 2016 at 11:35 p.m. officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Main Street in Penetanguishene.

TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE – On Saturday January 16, 2016 at 11:35 p.m. officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Main Street in Penetanguishene.

Officers attended and spoke to the female driver of the motor vehicle.

It was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and as result she was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Shauna WIENDER (age 23) of Orillia, ON is charged with:

  • Care and Control of a motor vehicle while blood alcohol content exceeds 80 mgs. Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

She was also served a 90 day Automatic Driver’s Licence Suspension and her vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

The OPP would like to thank the public for helping keep our communities safe by reporting these incidents of impaired driving.
