Just after midnight, South Simcoe Police reported that parts of Bradford and Innisfil had been without power for a number of hours.

In a news release, police said they had been inundated with calls for downed power lines and fallen trees, which echoed reports from emergency services across Simcoe County.

"If you do not need to be on the roads please stay home. The conditions are not safe at this time due to the number of downed trees and hydro lines," the release said.

Barrie Police issued a reminder for drivers to treat intersections as 4-way stops during power outages and proceed with caution.
