ROYAL VICTORIA REGIONAL HEALTH CENTRE

For Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre’s (RVH) 120th birthday Janice Skot (far left), RVH president and CEO, attended a special ceremony in the health centre to unveil the original 1897 cornerstone of the Royal Victoria Hospital on High Street. She was joined by Queen Victoria (centre, left) played by Joyce Stewart, as well as Wendy (centre, right) and Ben (far right) Gardner, who found the stone on their High Street property in 1998 during an excavation. Unfortunately the stone was damaged, but has since been restored. The Gardners have generously donated the stone to RVH which can be seen on display in RVH’s corridor gallery.
