All Hwy. 400 lanes open following motorcycle wreck south of Barrie

Beeton man, 62, was airlifted to a Toronto hospital following crash in southbound lanes, south of Innisfil Beach Road

A motorcycle crash on Highway 400 south of Barrie made cottagers' end-of-weekend trek home come to a standstill, Sunday afternoon.

A 62-year-old Beeton man was airlifted to a Toronto hospital Sunday afternoon after a single-vehicle collision occurred in the southbound lanes, south of Innisfil Beach Road, at approximately 12:30 p.m.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt told BarrieToday that the man’s injuries were not life-threatening and traffic is moving again with all lanes having been re-opened.

“The Ornge air ambulance was able to land on a portion of the highway that was closed off and get to the injured man in good time," he said. "All lanes are now open and traffic is flowing normally for a Sunday afternoon.”
