On Friday, February 12, 2016 at 1:17 a.m. an unknown male suspect was observed on video surveillance approaching a vehicle parked in a car port on Austen Lane, in the City of Barrie.
The male did not make attempts to enter the vehicle, rather peered in the window of the house scouting out what was inside.
The suspect then went to the front door and attempted to enter.
Luckily the home owners had securely locked all entries to their house and the burglar left on foot with no harm done.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the male in the photo from the car port.

This also serves as a reminder to residents of Barrie to remember to lock vehicles when unoccupied and make sure all windows and doors are secure at night and when not in your home.
