*************************
Doug Shipley, Member of Parliament for Barrie–Springwater–Oro-Medonte, will be hosting a physically-distanced Canada Day celebration tomorrow, July 1 2020. The celebration will take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Royal Canadian Legion Barrie Branch 147, located at 410 St. Vincent St.

“Canada Day will look a bit different this year, and we will miss the many great events that have brought us together across Barrie–Springwater–Oro-Medonte in years past. Although we can’t gather in large numbers at our usual local events, I am excited to have found a way to celebrate our great nation in a safe and responsible way,” said MP Doug Shipley.

“Canada Day is a day to reflect on our country’s great attributes and a day to commit to doing even better in the future. I am excited to celebrate this important day with the community.”

To maintain public safety, event attendees are asked to remain in their cars as they drive through the parking lot, where MP Shipley will be handing out free cupcakes, paper flags, colouring books and other fun giveaway items for constituents.

All are welcome to attend, quantities are limited.
