Gord Bamford and friends hit Barrie on Friday, Nov. 23 and hopes you’ll join him for one heck of a party.

Mavricks Music Hall will be rocking with the sounds of one of the hottest country music acts in the business right now as Bamford bring his Honkytonks and Dive Bar Tour to Barrie.

The 42-year-old Albertan told BarrieToday that, while he hasn’t been to Barrie before, he has been to all over Canada and knows that the people in city will have a great time when they come out.

“Barrie is a bigger city than where I grew up in Lacombe, Alta., but in touring Canada, I’ve noticed that many small towns are all the same despite being a bit different in size,” he said. “Lots of folks just want to get out and have a good time and I feel like this show is just that and the people that will be with us will be ready to go.”

Bamford will be joined on the show by JoJo Mason, Jade Eagleson and Johnson’s Creek to ensure there is a wide range of country music for everyone.

If you’re not a country music fan, that’s OK, according to Bamford, as the acts on stage are entertaining to everyone and not just those who grew up on the country sounds.

“This is just a big party, if you like to party this is the show you want to be at,” said Bamford. “JoJo is unbelievable and full of energy so that’ll be something to experience and when you add in everyone else it will definitely be a show that will either make you a country fan or have you leaving saying you had a real fun night.”

Those who do know their country music and the library of tunes that Bamford has accumulated will be happy to sing along to his hits When Your Lips Are So Close, Postcard From Pasadena and the very fun and energetic Stayed ‘Til Two.

“We’ll be playing lots of stuff the people know and it is pretty humbling to see folks sing along to my songs as you kind of dream of that when you start out,” said Bamford. “It’s still amazing to see how loved Stayed ‘Til Two is, people go crazy when that one gets played which we love to see.

"I love seeing everyone having a good time, we’re having a blast so join in and have one, too.”

The Honkytonks and Dive Bar Tour stops at Mavricks on Friday, Nov. 23 beginning at 8 p.m. and tickets are available online.
