The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is delighted to once again receive the support of Zehrs’ Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign to assist children in Simcoe/Muskoka. The campaign invites members of the community to support healthy, active living opportunities for children by donating to the YMCA.

From July 27 to Aug. 9, Zehrs Markets stores in Ontario invites shoppers to Give a Little, Help a Lot by adding $2 to their grocery bill in support of the YMCA. All funds collected from the Alliston, Big Bay Point, Bradford, Duckworth, Essa Road and Orillia stores will provide the financial assistance to allow kids in Simcoe/Muskoka to participate in health-focused YMCA programs like day camps, after-school programs, sports and swimming through health and fitness memberships.

“The Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign enables children, no matter their financial circumstances, to attend the Y to get active, learn new skills, gain confidence and make new friends,” says Brian Shelley, vice president, Philanthropy, Brand and Community Development, YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.

“We’re asking our community members to help create these meaningful and important development experiences for children by donating to support YMCA programs.”

For nine years, Zehrs Markets and their parent company, Loblaw Companies Limited, have been working with the YMCA to create opportunities for children to become healthier, and reach their full potential. The YMCA has always advocated for and supported the development of happy and healthy children, and the support of the community continues to help make this possible.
