Get ready for winter blast

Major storm system will move into the area Wednesday and Thursday, but will we get rain, snow or freezing rain?

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of Southern Ontario, advising that a major storm system will move into the area Wednesday and Thursday.

Forecasters said a low pressure system is currently developing over the southern states and will track northeast to reach Southern Ontario Wednesday.

Included in the advisory are Barrie, Collingwood, Hillsdale, Midland, Coldwater, Orr Lake, Orillia, Lagoon City and Washago.

A low pressure system is forecast to bring rain and significant snow to some areas, along with the possibility of freezing rain. The areas that will receive the heaviest snow and freezing rain will depend on the track of the low, which was uncertain Monday.
