Georgian Kodiaks set to 'tear up the lanes'

YBOWL Canada has announced its Georgian College Kodiak’s ten-pin bowling tournament regular-season schedule for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

The Georgian Kodiaks compete in the USBC Collegiate Bowling Program between September and March each year. During this time, student athletes from Georgian will compete in nine tournaments across the United States.

Georgian College Kodiaks will host their own bowling tournament this season in Lockport, N.Y. The Canadian Maple Classic will be held Oct. 27-28.

The season’s opener will take place on Saturday, Sept. 22 when the Kodiaks compete in Troy, Mich. at the RC Warriors Classic. Georgian will be striving for the title while looking to capture individual honours.

It’s a big season for the Georgian Kodiaks as we head into our third season quips YBOWL Canada founder and owner, Lee Anne Wilkins. Special fundraising packages will be announced in the coming months to support the Kodiaks in their travels state side.

Tryouts for the Georgian College Kodiaks tenpin bowling team were held the last week of August and the first week of September. Competing this fall and representing the Georgian Kodiaks will be junior, Madisyn Lyon; sophomores, Zek Ardizzon, Joshua Bautista, Karley Foster, and Kenton Schatz. Watch for freshman Lucas Holland, Daniel Quan, PJ Cheyne Miller and Jakob Wiskowski to tear up the lanes.

“We’ve set our goals for this season with our eye on making Nationals. We have a strong and aggressive team that is committed to working hard to attain our goals," smiles coach John Fallis.  

YBOWL will be introducing High School Bowling starting Nov. 5 at Bowlerama Barrie.
