The Georgian Grizzlies women’s basketball program is pleased to announce the addition of Hannah Sweet out of St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie, ON.

The local forward is currently playing for the Barrie Royals Junior U-18 team and will be entering the Business Administration program at Georgian this fall.

“I’m super excited,” said Sweet. “I’ve heard amazing things about the Business Administration program here at Georgian.”

Making a decision on a post-secondary institution can be challenging but the choice became clear for Sweet.

“I was conflicted between a couple different schools but weighing out the pros and cons I thought Georgian was the best fit for me. With the business program and being able to play on the basketball team I just think it will make for a great college experience.”

Grizzlies women’s basketball Head Coach Andrew Broeren couldn’t be happier with his new recruit.

“Hannah will make an excellent addition to our team,” said Broeren. “We already see her dedication to training as she gets ready for her first season. She is a big add to our already strong recruiting class.”

The Georgian Grizzlies 2017-18 women’s basketball season will begin in October, with tryout dates being announced in the coming weeks. For more information on how to become a varsity athlete please visit GeorgianGrizzlies.ca
