Environment Canada has issued a fog advisory for most of south Ontario including Toronto, York, Durham and Peel.

Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring, according to the national weather centre.

Patchy dense fog has developed across the area early this morning.

Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

Fog is expected to lift later this morning.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Fog advisories are issued when near zero visibilities in fog are expected or occurring.
