Five drivers arrested and charged with impaired driving offences

On Saturday, March 5, into the early hours of Sunday morning, Barrie Police arrested and charged five drivers from the City of Barrie for impaired driving and over 80.

It began early Saturday morning just after 8 a.m., police received a call for a single motor vehicle accident, investigation found the male to be impaired/over 80.

Later on that morning police arrested a second male for impaired driving/over 80, he had been found driving within the City.

Later in the evening another three drivers were arrested for impaired/over 80, and a female was issued a 3-day licence suspension for registering a “warn” on a roadside screening device.

The Barrie Police Service is committed to road safety, and will continue to protect drivers and pedestrians through traffic enforcement and arresting those who choose to drive impaired by drug of alcohol.
