A fire ban is in effect in Oro-Medonte.
The township stated the ban has been put in place “due to extremely dry conditions, recent warm temperatures, winds, and current forest/wildfires in areas of Ontario.”
The ban will be in effect until further notice.
All open-air burn permits are suspended during the ban, and any type of burning is prohibited.
Oro-Medonte joins other local municipalities with fire bans in effect, including Bradford and Springwater.
