FIBRE SPIRIT FESTIVAL

Alpaca yarn, hand dyed yarn, hand spun yarn, felting products, rug hooking products, the list goes on and on for Barrie’s first ever Fibre Festival, scheduled for Aug. 25, 2018 at the Barrie Curling Club on Essa Road.

This day long event will feature the creative offerings of over 75 vendors in the region, and those who love working with and in fibre are invited to participate.  Already, 31 of 75 booths are taken and the call is out for others to sign on for this celebration of colour and creativity.

For knitters, crocheters, rug hookers, weavers, needle felters this event will offer materials, tools, books and demonstrations for those interested in the serious craft field.

If you’re interested in taking a booth for the day, full booths are offered at $225 and pop-up booths are priced at $85.

This region boasts a world of fibre farmers, indie hand-dyers, fibre producers, local yarn shops all coming under one roof for the first time.  Fibre Spirit’s vibrant marketplace will showcase new and upcoming fibre artists as well as established producers.  Participants will be able to take in a mid-afternoon fashion walk with creations like knit kits, sweaters, accessories, project bags, supplies and more!

The show will run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, Barrie Curling Club, 175 Essa Rd, just off Highway 400. Admission is $6 with children under 12 admitted free.
