INNISFIL – Everyone is invited to “Spring into Downtown” on Saturday, Apr. 8, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Road) or at the Cookstown Chamber of Commerce Office (19 Queen Street.)

At both locations, families will be invited to explore local businesses to find festive activities, giveaways and many special surprises.

“It’s going to be a great day packed with lots of fun, free activities for kids and people of all ages,” said Innisfil Mayor Gord Wauchope. “If you’ve ever wanted to get to know the people and businesses in your neighbourhood, this is the perfect opportunity for you.”

The Town of Innisfil has partnered with the Cookstown Chamber of Commerce and the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library to bring this event to multiple communities.

When residents arrive at either of the two central locations, they can pick up some beverages and a detailed map. Participating businesses will display a brightly coloured participation poster in their front window.

“Much of the shopping done by Innisfil residents happens outside of our community” said Brennan Kenny, Economic and Community Development Officer. “After seeing the tremendous success of our annual Halloween event, we are delighted to have – for the first time – a spring event that once again allows local businesses to build relationships and show the benefits of buying and supporting local.”

Businesses in the Innisfil Beach Road area (between 20 and 25 Sideroad) or the Cookstown downtown area that are interested in participating can contact Brennan Kenny at 705-436-3740 Ext. 1514 or [email protected].
