More than 120 Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) teachers and designated early childhood educators will take part in an outdoor education conference on January 30.
Mittens in the Snow will feature workshops and presentations on wildlife tracking, natural curiosity, technology in the outdoors, numeracy and literacy, and music and art for Kindergarten to Grade 4 teachers.
Participants will also hear from keynote speaker Frank Glew.
Glew is a teacher, author and outdoor education expert who has written 11 children’s picture books and is the recipient of many awards for his work in environmental education.
The conference takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Education Centre, located at 1170 Highway 26 in Midhurst.
