ORO-MEDONTE – Members from the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigation unit (TTCI) are currently on scene investigating a fatal single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Warminster Side Road west of Line 11 In Oro-Medonte Twp.
Preliminary Investigation reveals that a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
A female passenger in the motor vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other passengers were transported to local area hospital with minor injuries.
The 20-year-old driver Tyson LAWLOR of Coldwater, Ontario has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:
•Dangerous operation of motor vehicle causing death
•Impaired operation of motor vehicle causing death
•Criminal negligence causing death
•Care or Control Over 80 mgs.
LAWLOR is being held in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing today.
The road is closed between Line 10 and Line 11 until further notice. Information will be provided as it becomes available.
