You can ring in 2018 with Canadian rock icon Kim Mitchell.
The headline act for Barrie's Downtown Countdown event was announced Monday morning on Rock95.
The City of Barrie always hosts an evening of live entertainment on New Year's Even featuring a special performance and early countdown for families, a local band, a Canadian headliner, a midnight countdown, fireworks, and more.
Mitchell will be joined by Tragically Hip tribute band the band Practically Hip and local act Rue Bella.
Rue Bella was chosen out of over 40 submissions.
There will be family activities all day and the formal festivities get underway at 6 p.m.
