A group of Fresh Air Fridays organizers gathered on Dunlop Street this morning to promote the upcoming kick off. Pictured left to right are Tracey Baker, owner of Zu Zu Fashion Boutique, Stacey Zubczyk of the BIA, Lisa Spinks-Smith of the Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie, councillor Rose Romita, Craig Stevens, Managing Director Downtown Barrie BIA, Tom Ambeau, BIA.

Over 60 downtown stores, restaurants and service groups are launching the first ever Fresh Air Fridays in support of the Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie.

Participating businesses are teaming up to put together a $2,500 prize package of goods, services and coupons.

Shopping in Fresh Air Fridays means you can fill out a ballot to enter into a draw for the big prize.

Residents are invited to help the shelter with cash donations or by dropping off non-perishable food items, toiletries, and feminine hygiene products at local businesses.

If you donate to the shelter, you will receive an additional ballot for the draw.

Fresh Air Fridays kicks off at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 6 with a Flap Jack Flip at Memorial Square.
