ORILLIA - The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is partnering with Georgian College students in an “up for grabs campaign”.

On February 9 and 10, 2016 between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. members of the Orillia Foot Patrol Unit in conjunction with Orillia Auxiliary Unit and Georgian college students will be going door to door in the area of Gill Street and Forest Avenue in the City of Orillia.

The purpose of this campaign is to educate and bring awareness to homeowners about the dangers related to identity theft and theft of personal property.

Leaving your vehicle unlocked and having valuables in plain view is an invitation for thieves to steal your property.

The Orillia OPP encourages everyone to do their part in helping to keep their property and their identity safe.

Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are committed to public safety, delivering proactive and innovative policing in partnership with our communities.

Officers value your contribution to building safe communities.

If you have information about suspected unlawful activity, please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or visit Crime Stoppers at: www.crimestopperssdm.com or call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
