Dog stolen in Tay Township reunited soon after with her owner

18-month-old beagle had been reported stolen from a Port McNicoll yard

A dog allegedly stolen from the front lawn of a Port McNicoll home was soon retrieved and returned to her owner, Friday.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP said earlier today that Pocket, an 18-month-old beagle which has an internal identifying chip, had been stolen while left unattended but secured from the front lawn of a Hayes Street home sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 11:55 a.m., Feb. 14.

This afternoon, police said family pet had been located by a Good Samaritan and brought to the Ontario SPCA Midland and District Animal Centre on Highway 12 in Tay Township.

Pocket has been reunited with her owner and the person who found her was thanked by the owner and officers.

There was no word on any charges.
